Align does not use accounts. There is no email to hand over and no password to make. You pay with a wallet, and that same wallet is how you get back in.
If you do not have one, this page shows you how. It takes about ten minutes.
If we asked for your email and a password, we would have a list of everyone who came here. That list would sit on a computer somewhere. It could be asked for. It could be stolen. We would rather not have one at all.
Your wallet does three jobs, and none of them needs your name:

Align works with any wallet on Sui. If you already have one you trust, use it and skip the rest of this page.
If you do not, we point people to Slush. It works in your browser and on your phone, and you can buy what you need inside it.
It is worth knowing where it comes from. Cocoon is built on Sui, and Sui was built by a company called Mysten Labs, started in 2021 by the people who built the blockchain and the Move coding language at Facebook, now Meta. Slush is their own wallet, from the same people who made the chain underneath it.
Whichever wallet you pick, nobody holds your money for you. Not Slush, and not us. That is what a wallet is, and it is also why the twelve words matter so much.
We get nothing for saying any of this. Slush is not part of Cocoon and we have no deal with them.
Slush gives you a choice. Read both before you pick.
SIGN IN WITH AN ACCOUNT YOU ALREADY HAVE
You tap Google, Apple, Facebook or Twitch. Slush uses some clever maths so that company does not learn your wallet address. It does know you signed in to a wallet that day. None of that reaches us. There is nothing to write down. If you ever lose that login, you lose the wallet with it.
WRITE DOWN TWELVE WORDS
Slush gives you twelve words. Those words are the wallet. Write them on paper and put the paper somewhere safe. Do not take a photo of them. Do not type them into anything. Anyone who reads them can take what is in the wallet. No other company is involved at any point.
If privacy is why you are here, the twelve words are the cleaner choice. They also ask more of you. Pick the one you will really keep safe. Lose the wallet and you lose the kit. The web version only offers the sign-in route. If you want the twelve words, you have to install Slush on your browser or phone.
Go to slush.app. There are two buttons, and they lead to different things.
These screens change from time to time. Slush keeps its own guides at slush.app/guides, and those will always be newer than this page.
Align takes USDC or USDsui. Both are coins meant to be worth one US dollar. We cover the network fee, so there is nothing extra to buy first.
If you already hold either of them on Sui, send it in and you are done. If you hold something else on Sui, swap it inside Slush.
Press Buy/Sell on the Slush home screen. Slush shows you what you can buy and how much it costs. Pick USDC, say how much you want, and Slush hands you over to a company that takes the payment. Today that is usually Coinbase.
What you can pay with there depends on where you are and what you are using. A card or a bank transfer is almost always one of the choices. On an iPhone, iPad or Mac, Apple Pay is usually there too, and it works the way it always does.
One thing to be clear about. Whoever takes the payment is a real business with rules to follow. It will ask for your email, and it may ask for a government ID or some other proof of who you are. That is them, not us, and we never see any of it.
Which company you are handed to, and which coins you are offered, can depend on where you are. Slush shows you what is available to you at the time. Slush writes this part up itself, with pictures, at slush.app/guides/fund-your-wallet.
When you connect, we see a wallet address and that it has paid. Not a name. Not an email.
What you write stays in your browser window while you work. The conversation runs through a proxy that does not log it. If you save your kit, it is locked in your browser before it leaves, with a key that cannot be put back together without your wallet.
One thing we would rather tell you now than have you find out later. The model that writes your replies has to read what you wrote in order to answer. A machine does that, not a person, and it happens once, as the answer is made. Nothing is kept afterwards and nothing is used to train anything. We only use companies that work that way. Align is one sitting of two to three hours, in one tab. It does not open again once it closes.
A laptop or a desktop holds that tab without trouble. Phones and tablets often reload a tab once you have left it alone for a while, and every time you approve something in your wallet a new tab opens. That is usually when a reload happens.
Buying works on anything. It is the session that wants a device which will hold the tab for a few hours.
